The Ascension wrasse (Thalassoma ascensionis) is a type of wrasse, which is a colorful fish often found near coral reefs. This fish lives in the eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean. You can find it around islands like Ascension Island, St. Helena, and São Tomé.
About the Ascension Wrasse
The Ascension wrasse likes to live in areas where there are seagrass beds and rocks. It can be found in water that is not too deep, usually from about 1 meter (3 feet) to 30 meters (98 feet) deep. This fish is quite small, growing up to about 10 centimeters (4 inches) long. Sometimes, people call it a "greenfish" because of its color.
