Ashford is a suburb located southwest of Adelaide, in South Australia. It is part of the City of West Torrens area. This suburb has a unique triangular shape. It is bordered by three main roads: South Road, Anzac Highway, and Everard Avenue. Two important places in Ashford are Ashford Hospital and Ashford Special School.

A small stream called Brownhill Creek flows through Ashford. It runs in a special cement channel behind the school.

The name "Ashford" comes from a historic property. Dr. Charles George Everard settled in this area in 1838. He named his home and land "Ashford." This was in honor of Ashford, Kent, a town in England. His original residence, Ashford House, is now part of the Ashford Special School.
