History of Ashippun
Ashippun's main community area is actually divided into two parts. These parts are known as Ashippun and Old Ashippun. Old Ashippun was the original place where the community first started.

A big change happened when the first railroad was built. The railroad tracks were laid several miles away from Old Ashippun. Because of this, many people and businesses moved closer to the new railroad. This shift caused a large part of the community to relocate. A similar move happened in the nearby community of Lebanon.
