Sarah Ashley Longshore is a famous American artist and businesswoman. She lives and works in New York City. Ashley owns her own art gallery, the Longshore Studio Gallery, in the SoHo area of New York. Her art often shows things from popular culture, the glamour of Hollywood, and American shopping habits.
Ashley Longshore has been recognized for her work. She was on Brit + Co’s list of "16 Female Artists You Should Know." Her former studio was even listed as one of the "15 Best Things to do In New Orleans" by Condé Nast Traveler in 2018. Many celebrities collect her art, including Blake Lively, Salma Hayek, and Penélope Cruz. In 2018, The New York Times called her a "pop feminism avatar" because of her influence on thousands of followers.

Early Life and Art Beginnings
Ashley Longshore was born in Montgomery, Alabama. Her father was the CEO of an advertising company. From a young age, Ashley was involved in many arts. She took lessons in tap dancing, ballet, theater, piano, jazz, and singing.
After finishing high school at Brenau Academy in Gainesville, Georgia, Ashley went to the University of Montana. She earned a degree in English literature. While in college, she took a semester off to paint. Ashley is a self-taught artist. This means she learned to paint on her own. Early in her career, she often copied paintings by the famous artist Picasso. She put together a collection of her art and showed it to galleries in Missoula, Montana. Her very first art show was in a small-town gallery.

Fashion and Art Collaborations
- In 2011, the fashion brand Chloé asked Ashley to create a painting. It showed the history of their fashion house.
- In September 2013, Ashley had a special art show. It was called “Fashionably Late” and took place in a pop-up gallery in New York City.
- Vogue.com featured Ashley in 2014. She talked about how Instagram was becoming a great place to sell art.
- In 2015, Ashley sold over $1 million worth of her artwork.
- She partnered with the beauty brand Cle de Peau in 2016. She designed a line of home goods for them.
- In November 2018, she created art to help launch Gucci’s “Do It Yourself” project.
- In 2019, Ashley worked with Maybelline. She designed the packaging for their lipsticks.

- In 2021, The Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel celebrated its 30th anniversary. Ashley was an Artist-In-Residence there. She created more than 20 new artworks for the hotel.
- In 2022, an organization called YoungArts started a new award. It's called The Ashley Longshore Excellence in the Arts Award. It gives $25,000 each year to young artists in visual arts, photography, and musical theater.
- In 2023, Ashley worked with Porsche USA. She created artwork for their ads, which were used as murals in cities across the U.S.
- She also opened a new gallery in SoHo, New York City, in September 2023.
- In December 2024, Ashley and Judith Leiber Couture released a collection of art busts.

- In 2013, her paintings were on the covers of Art New Orleans and Vie Magazine.
- In 2014, Ashley worked with her friend Blake Lively. She created art for Lively's lifestyle website, Preserve.
- Later that year, she created a holiday art display for Kirna Zabete. It was called “Jingle My Bells.” Kirna Zabete now has 20 of Ashley's artworks on display.
- In 2015, Forbes magazine included Ashley on a list of 21 important modern artists.
- Her work was also shown at the Cornell Museum of Art & American Culture in an exhibit called “Bling: Art That Shines.” This collection included her large portraits that showed celebrity excess.
- In 2015, Ashley started Artgasm. This was a program where people could subscribe to get art directly from her.
- In fall 2015, Ashley showed a collection of funny fashion portraits during New York Fashion Week. She was the first artist to work with the Bryant Park Hotel. She designed a special hotel suite with seven bold portraits of famous fashion icons.
- In January 2018, Ashley became the first solo female artist to show her work at Bergdorf Goodman Building. Her art was displayed in six different window displays on Fifth Avenue.
- In March 2019, Ashley had a special show for Diane von Fürstenberg's flagship store in New York City. She created 37 paintings of famous women to celebrate Women's History Month.
- In March 2020, Sprinkles Cupcakes featured Ashley's artwork on a special cupcake for Women's History Month.
- In October 2021, Ashley created an art installation for the Netflix premiere of Gwyneth Paltrow’s ..., Love & goop.
- That same month, she showed her new furniture collection. It was part of an exhibition that also featured about 70 of her large pop art paintings.
- Ashley has also released two collections of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). The first was based on her book of women's portraits, ROAR, in January 2022. The second, IT'S A MAN'S WORLD, featured portraits of real and fictional men in June 2022.
