Ashley Renaldo Nurse, born on December 22, 1988, is a former cricket player from the West Indies. He played different types of cricket, including first-class, List A, and Twenty20 matches. He mostly played for the Barbados team.
Ashley Nurse is known for his right-arm off-break bowling. This means he spins the ball away from a right-handed batter. He also bats right-handed, making him an all-rounder. A big highlight of his career was being part of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup.

Playing for the West Indies
Nurse started playing for the West Indies in international matches. His first Twenty20 International (T20I) game was against Pakistan. This happened on April 21, 2011. In that game, he bowled four overs. He did not take any wickets and gave away 33 runs.
In his next T20I match, against India, he bowled well. He gave away only 23 runs in four overs. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut later. This was in November 2016 against Sri Lanka. He was known as a bowler who didn't give away many runs.
Winning the T20 World Cup
A major achievement for Ashley Nurse was winning the 2016 T20 World Cup. He was a key member of the West Indies team. This victory was a proud moment for him and his country.

Ashley Nurse has played a lot of cricket for his home team, Barbados. He started playing for them in 2007. He has been a consistent player for Barbados for many years.
Awards and Recognition
In July 2017, Nurse received a special award. The West Indies Players' Association named him the Regional Limited-Overs Cricketer of the Year. This award recognized his excellent performance in shorter cricket games.

In October 2018, Cricket West Indies gave him a "white-ball" contract. This contract was for the 2018–19 season. It meant he would play in limited-overs matches.
In April 2019, Ashley Nurse was chosen for a very important team. He was part of the West Indies' squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. This is one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the world.
Later in 2019, he played for Barbados again. This was in the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament. He was the best wicket-taker for Barbados in that tournament. He took 19 wickets in nine matches.
In July 2020, he joined the Barbados Tridents team. This team plays in the 2020 Caribbean Premier League, a popular T20 league.
