Ashtone Wayne Henry Morgan (born February 9, 1991) is a Canadian former soccer player. He played as a left-back, which is a defensive position on the field.
Morgan is special because he was the first player from the TFC Academy (a youth soccer program) to play for the Canadian national team.

Ashtone Morgan's Early Life
Ashtone grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He went to Northern Secondary School. When he was younger, he played for the Toronto Lynx U-13 team.
This team traveled to England to play against youth teams from other clubs. Ashtone was a standout player on this trip. His skills earned him invitations from famous clubs like Southampton.
Ashtone Morgan's Club Career
Playing for Toronto FC

Ashtone Morgan joined the TFC Academy when he was 16 years old in 2008. He played for the academy team in the Canadian Soccer League in 2009 and 2010.
Morgan made his first professional appearance for Toronto FC on October 20, 2010. This was in a CONCACAF Champions League game against Árabe Unido from Panama. Toronto FC won the game 1–0, and Morgan played very well.
In early 2011, Morgan was invited to train with Toronto FC's main team in Turkey. He officially signed with Toronto FC on March 17, 2011. He played his first league game on March 26, 2011, against Portland.
Later in the 2011 season, Morgan became a regular starter for Toronto FC. He played the full 90 minutes in many games. He finished the 2011 season having played 14 league games.
Morgan became the main left-back for Toronto FC in the 2012 season. The club signed him to a long-term deal on July 5, 2012.
However, another player named Justin Morrow joined the team. This meant Morgan played less during the 2014 MLS season. He mostly played as a backup left-back.
To get more playing time, Morgan was loaned to Toronto FC II in 2015. He could still play for the main team if needed. He played his first game for Toronto FC II on March 21.
Despite injuries to other players, Morgan returned to the Toronto FC lineup in 2015. On May 2, he made his 100th appearance for the club. This was a big achievement, as he was the first player in Toronto FC history to reach this milestone.
Morgan missed most of the 2016 season due to an injury. However, Toronto FC had a very successful season and reached the 2016 MLS Cup. After the season, Morgan signed a new contract with Toronto FC. His time with the club ended after nine seasons when his contract option was not renewed for the 2020 season.
Playing for Real Salt Lake
On January 21, 2020, Morgan signed with Real Salt Lake for the 2020 season. He played for them until December 2021, when the club decided not to renew his contract.
Playing for Forge FC
On February 1, 2022, Morgan joined Canadian Premier League team Forge FC. He played his first game for Forge on February 16 in a 2022 CONCACAF Champions League match.
Morgan re-signed with Forge FC for the 2023 season on January 23, 2023. He officially retired from professional soccer on July 31, 2023.
Ashtone Morgan's International Career
Ashtone Morgan played for several Canadian youth national teams. In 2007, he was part of the Canada U-16 team. He also played for the Canada U-20 team in late 2010.
Morgan received his first call-up to the senior Canadian men's national team in September 2011. This was for two FIFA World Cup qualifying games. This made him the first player from the Toronto FC Academy to be called up to the national team.
Morgan made his debut for the senior team against Saint Lucia. He came on as a substitute in a 7–0 win. He even got an assist on the sixth goal.
In November, Morgan started his first game for the national team against Saint Kitts and Nevis. Canada won that game 4–0.
On December 13, 2011, Morgan was named the Canadian U-20 Player of the Year. This award recognized him as the best young Canadian player that year.
Morgan was also part of Canada's squad for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. These are important tournaments for national teams in North and Central America.
