Asking Alexandria are an English rock band. They first formed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before moving to York, England. The band's current members are singer Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, drummer James Cassells, and bassist Sam Bettley.
The band was started in 2003 by guitarist Ben Bruce. The group became well-known in 2009 with a lineup that included Bruce, Worsnop, Cassells, Liddell, and Bettley. This lineup released three popular albums: Stand Up and Scream (2009), Reckless & Relentless (2011), and From Death to Destiny (2013).
In 2015, Worsnop left the band and was replaced by singer Denis Stoff. With Stoff, they released the album The Black (2016). Later that year, Worsnop returned to the band. They then released more albums, including Asking Alexandria (2017) and See What's on the Inside (2021). Their most recent album is Where Do We Go from Here? (2023). In 2024, founder Ben Bruce left the band.

History
How the Band Started (2003–2009)
Guitarist Ben Bruce started the band in Dubai in 2003. He wanted to find international success, so he moved back to England in 2008. There, he put together a new version of the band. He found new members from the area, including lead singer Danny Worsnop.
The band signed with Sumerian Records and recorded their first album, Stand Up and Scream. It was released on September 15, 2009. The album was successful in the United States. The song "Final Episode (Let's Change the Channel)" became very popular and was certified gold by the RIAA. This means it sold over 500,000 copies.
Growing Popularity (2010–2012)
The band toured a lot and gained more fans. They released their second album, Reckless & Relentless, on April 4, 2011. This album was a success in the UK and Australia. The band played at big music festivals like the Vans Warped Tour and Soundwave in Australia.
In 2012, the band released a short film called Through Sin and Self-Destruction. It featured music videos for three of their songs. They also played at the Mayhem Festival tour with famous bands like Slayer and Slipknot.
New Sounds and Changes (2013–2016)
The band's third album, From Death to Destiny, came out on August 6, 2013. It became their highest-charting album, reaching number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US. The album showed the band exploring new sounds inspired by classic rock.
In January 2015, singer Danny Worsnop announced he was leaving the band to work on other music. He was replaced by Denis Stoff, a singer from Ukraine. The band released their first single with Stoff, "I Won't Give In", in May 2015.
With their new singer, the band recorded the album The Black, which was released in March 2016. They toured with bands like Bullet for My Valentine to support the album.
Worsnop's Return and Recent Years (2016–Present)
In October 2016, fans were surprised to learn that Danny Worsnop was rejoining the band. Denis Stoff had left, and the band welcomed Worsnop back. They immediately started touring together again.
The band released their fifth album, which was self-titled, in December 2017. This album had a different sound, mixing their heavy style with influences from stadium rock. They continued to release new music with the albums Like a House on Fire (2020) and See What's on the Inside (2021).
In 2023, the band released their ninth studio album, Where Do We Go from Here?. On January 19, 2024, Ben Bruce announced he was leaving the band to spend more time with his family. This left the band with no original members from its earliest days in Dubai.
Musical Style
Asking Alexandria's music is often described as metalcore, hard rock, and heavy metal. Their early albums also included electronic sounds, a style known as electronicore.
Guitarist Ben Bruce said the band likes to change their sound with each album. Their first two albums, Stand Up and Scream and Reckless & Relentless, are considered metalcore. Their third album, From Death to Destiny, was influenced by classic heavy metal and rock bands.
The band members have said they are inspired by 1980s rock music. Some of their biggest influences include Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, and Aerosmith. They have even recorded cover versions of songs by bands like Journey and Def Leppard.
