Augusta is a city in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, United States. It's a small city, with a population of 1,567 people recorded in the 2020 census. This was a slight increase from 1,550 people in 2010. The city is located right next to the Town of Bridge Creek.

History of Augusta
Augusta used to be known by a different name: Ridge Creek. A post office has been open in Augusta since 1858. The city got its current name in 1856. One idea is that it was named after Augusta, Maine. Another story says that the town was named Augusta because citizens decided to name the village after the prettiest girl in the area.
Geography and Nature
Augusta is located at coordinates 44°40′47″N 91°7′22″W / 44.67972°N 91.12278°W.
The United States Census Bureau says the city covers a total area of about 2.19 square miles (5.72 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
Augusta is home to two special streams where you can find trout. These are Bridge Creek and its smaller branch, Diamond Valley Creek.
The city is on US Highway 12 and State Trunk Highway 27. These roads help people travel through town. Augusta is about ten miles north of Interstate 94. It is also about 20 miles southeast of the larger City of Eau Claire.

Fun Events
Every year, Augusta celebrates Independence Day with a special event. It's called "Bean and Bacon Days". This festival also celebrates the founding of the town. The event includes a parade and a street fair. The "Bean and Bacon Days" celebration started in 1977. The Augusta Business Association and the Lions Club first created it. Today, Bush Brothers and Company helps sponsor this yearly event.
