Augusta Keith Dabney (born October 23, 1918 – died February 4, 2008) was an American actress. She was famous for her many roles in soap operas. One of her most well-known roles was Isabelle Alden on the TV show Loving. She played this kind, wealthy character for several years.

Early Life and Education

Augusta Dabney was born in Berkeley, California, on October 23, 1918. Her parents were Thomas G. and Jessie Dabney. She grew up in Berkeley.

Augusta went to the University of California at Berkeley. She was part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority there. In 1937, she moved to New York City. She wanted to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Acting Career

Augusta Dabney had a long career in acting. She performed in many plays and on television and in movies.

Broadway and Early TV

Augusta started her acting career on Broadway. Her first Broadway play was Abe Lincoln in Illinois in 1938. Her last Broadway show was Sacrilege in 1995.

In the early days of television, she appeared in many live TV shows. These included Studio One, Kraft Television Theatre, and Robert Montgomery Presents. These shows often told a different story each week.

Her second husband was actor William Prince. They got married in 1964. They stayed married until he passed away in 1996. Augusta and William acted together in several shows. They appeared on Young Dr. Malone, Another World, As the World Turns, and A World Apart. They also played a married couple in the movie The Paper (1994).

Augusta Dabney's last acting performance was in an episode of the TV show 100 Centre Street in 2001.

Death

Augusta Dabney passed away on February 4, 2008. She was 89 years old. She died in Dobbs Ferry, New York, after being ill for some time.
