Aureliano Fernández-Guerra y Orbe (born June 16, 1816 – died September 7, 1894) was an important Spanish scholar. He was known as a historian, someone who studies the past. He was also an epigrapher, which means he studied ancient writings carved into stone or other materials. Besides that, he was an antiquarian, a person who collects and studies old things. Aureliano Fernández-Guerra was also a talented poet and a playwright, someone who writes plays for the theater.

Joining the Royal Spanish Academy

His Role as Archivist and Librarian

Later, in 1872, he took on even more important roles at the Real Academia Española. He became its Archivist and Librarian. These roles were very important for preserving knowledge and making it available for others to study.
