Aventura was a popular music group from the Dominican Republic and America. They became famous with their hit song "Obsesión" in 2002. The group had four members: Romeo Santos, Lenny Santos, Henry Santos, and Max Santos.
Aventura is known as one of the most important Latin music groups ever. They changed bachata music, making it sound more modern. Over ten years, Aventura released five studio albums. Many of their songs became top 10 hits. Some of these include "Cuando Volverás," "Un Beso," and "Dile Al Amor." They even sold out famous places like Madison Square Garden. Aventura has won and been nominated for many big awards. These include the American Music Awards and Billboard Latin Music Awards. They are often called "K.O.B.," which means "Kings of Bachata."

History
How Aventura Started
In 1993, two brothers, Lenny and Max Santos, started a band called La Banda Sueño. They needed a good singer. Lenny met Anthony Santos, who was a singer and songwriter. Anthony sang in a church choir with his cousin, Henry. Soon, Henry joined the group too.
The group performed for free in their neighborhood in The Bronx. They played for neighbors, in stores, and on the streets. They later changed their name to Los Tinellers, which was a fun way to say "teenagers."
In 1995, a man named Elvin Polanco saw them perform. He thought they were talented and became their manager. He helped them record their first album, "Trampa de Amor." However, the album did not sell well.
Becoming Aventura
In 1996, the group got a new manager, Julio César García. He helped them create a new look. Julio added Henry and Max as main members. He wanted the group to look like popular American boy bands. He also changed their name to Aventura.
They signed a record deal with Premium Latin Music, Inc. Aventura wanted to make bachata music popular everywhere. They started gaining fans in cities like Boston. Aventura was the first group to mix bachata with other music styles. They added R&B, hip hop, reggae, and rock.
Aventura broke many bachata rules. They were the first bachata group to sing a whole song in English. Anthony wrote new kinds of lyrics, not just about heartbreak. Lenny used electric guitars and special effects for the bachata sound. Max added cool bass techniques like slapping. Their new sound helped bachata become famous. Their song "Obsesión" was a huge hit in 2002. It topped music charts in many countries.
Aventura performed at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 1, 2007. They sold out every seat in the arena. They were the first bachata group to do this. Other famous artists joined them on stage.
In 2009, Aventura was invited to perform at the White House. They sang their hit song "Su Veneno" for Barack Obama, who was the President. They were the first bachata group to perform there.
In February 2010, they sold out Madison Square Garden again. This time, they sold out four nights in a row! They sold more tickets than some big American artists. At one concert, they honored and sang with the famous Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra.
Taking a Break (Hiatus)
In 2011, the group announced they would take a break. Each member wanted to work on their own music. Henry started his own solo career. Romeo also signed with Sony Music Latin and began his solo career. Max and Lenny formed a new bachata group called "D'Element." Later, they joined with Steve Styles from the group Xtreme and renamed their group to Vena.
Getting Back Together (Reunions)
The group reunited for a special performance on July 12, 2014. They played at Romeo's sold-out concert at Yankee Stadium.
On December 1, 2015, Aventura announced a reunion tour. They performed for the entire month of February 2016 at the United Palace theater in New York City. All their concerts were sold out. They wanted to continue the tour, but Romeo had other concert plans.
On April 1, 2019, the group posted a message online about a new song called "Inmortal." It was first thought to be an April Fool's joke. But the next day, they said the song was real and would be released soon. "Inmortal" was their first new song in 10 years. It quickly became popular on music charts.
Aventura won the Tropical Duo/Group of the Year award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards on April 25, 2019. They performed "Inmortal" at the show.
On September 21, 2019, the group reunited for Romeo's Utopia concert at MetLife Stadium. They sang many of their hits. They even performed "Obsesión" with Cardi B. In December 2019, they announced a new tour called La Gira Inmortal. This was their first tour together since 2011, and it started in Los Angeles in February 2020.
