Starting in Politics
Ayaz Sadiq began his political journey in the late 1990s. He first joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. At that time, he was a close friend of the PTI leader, Imran Khan.
In 1997, Sadiq ran for a seat in the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab. He was a PTI candidate for Constituency PP-121 Lahore. However, he did not win that election.

In 1998, Ayaz Sadiq left the PTI party. He had some disagreements with Imran Khan. In 2001, he joined the PML-N party.
In the 2002 general election, Sadiq was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan. He ran as a PML-N candidate for Constituency NA-122 (Lahore-V). He won against Imran Khan in that election. During his time as a member of the National Assembly, he worked on committees for Railways, Finance, and Defence Production.
