Asad Qaiser (Urdu: اسد قیصر) is a Pakistani politician from Swabi. He was the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, serving from August 2018 to April 2022. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024. He also served in this position from August 2018 to January 2023. Before that, he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2013 to 2018. He was the 14th Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from May 2013 to August 2018.

Early Life and Education
Asad Qaiser was born on November 15, 1969, in Swabi District, Pakistan. He is the oldest of four brothers and two sisters. One of his brothers, Aqibullah Khan, is also a politician.
He went to the Government Higher Secondary School in Marghuz for his early education. He later studied at the Government Post Graduate College (Swabi) and the University of Peshawar. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. During his student days, he was known for being a good player of volleyball and field hockey.
Political Journey
Starting in Politics
Asad Qaiser began his political journey with Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI). In 1984, he was elected as a student leader (Nazim) at Kotha College Swabi. He served in this role for two years.
Joining PTI
He joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party when it was formed in 1996. In the same year, he became the district president of PTI.
He ran for a seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan in the 1997 and 2002 elections but was not successful. In 2008, he became the president of PTI for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. He held this position until 2013.
In the 2013 Pakistani general election, he was elected to the National Assembly from Constituency NA-13 (Swabi-II). In the same election, he also won a seat in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Constituency PK-35 (Swabi-V). He chose to keep his provincial assembly seat and left the National Assembly seat.
Leading the Provincial Assembly
On May 30, 2013, Asad Qaiser was elected as the 14th Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He served as Speaker until his term ended in 2018.
Leading the National Assembly

In the 2018 Pakistani general election, he was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was also re-elected to the National Assembly from Constituency NA-18 (Swabi-I). He decided to keep his National Assembly seat and gave up his provincial assembly seat.
On August 10, 2018, PTI nominated him for the role of Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He was elected Speaker on August 15, 2018. He resigned from his position on April 9, 2022, before a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Election in 2024
Asad Qaiser was re-elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan in the 2024 Pakistani general election. He won from Constituency NA-19 Swabi-I. As a Member of the National Assembly (MNA), he has spoken about important issues. These include concerns about how the government was trying to pass the 26th amendment to the constitution. He also raised concerns about actions taken against his party, PTI, which he felt were unfair. He also highlighted the increase in terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Family and Education
Asad Qaiser is married and has two sons and two daughters. He also founded the Quaid-e-Azam Public School in Zaida, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This school is now considered one of the best in the area.
Health
On April 30, 2020, Asad Qaiser tested positive for COVID-19 during the coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan.
