Ayr is a village in Adams County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 94 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hastings, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Contents
History
Ayr got its start in the year 1878, following construction of the railroad through the territory. It was named for Doctor Ayr, a railroad official from Iowa. Ayr was incorporated as a village in 1883.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 94 people, 35 households, and 26 families in the village. The population density was 522.2 inhabitants per square mile (201.6/km2). There were 36 housing units at an average density of 200.0 per square mile (77.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White.
Of the 35 households 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.7% were married couples living together, 2.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 25.7% were non-families. 22.9% of households were one person and 8.6% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.15.
The median age in the village was 43.5 years. 28.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 2.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.2% were from 25 to 44; 34.1% were from 45 to 64; and 13.8% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the village was 50.0% male and 50.0% female.
