Aysel Teymurzadeh (Azerbaijani: Aysel Teymurzadə) is a pop and R&B singer from Azerbaijan. She was born on April 25, 1989, in Baku. Aysel is well-known for representing Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. She performed the song "Always" with singer Arash. They achieved third place in the competition.

Aysel's Early Life and Education
Aysel grew up in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. She was the youngest of three daughters. Her mother was a university professor and her father was a journalist. Aysel began singing when she was only four years old. Playing the piano also became a big passion for her from a young age.
Aysel finished school at the Intellect Lyceum in Baku. She also studied in the United States for a year. From 2005 to 2006, she attended Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas. Soon after arriving in the U.S., she joined the local choir. She also started training for singing competitions for young vocalists.
Singing Competitions in the U.S.
While in the United States, Aysel won three gold medals. These awards were from contests held at Southern Arkansas University. She also won at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2005, she took part in Yeni Ulduz, which means "New Star". This was a national singing contest in Azerbaijan. By January 2009, Aysel was studying International Relations. She attended the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Aysel at Eurovision
In January 2009, Aysel was chosen to represent Azerbaijan. This decision was made by İTV, the national broadcaster. She performed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. She sang the song "Always" with Iranian singer Arash.
Aysel was the first female singer to represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision. On May 16, 2009, Aysel Teymurzadeh and Arash did very well. They finished in third place with 207 points. There were 25 performers in the Eurovision grand final that year. Aysel and Arash also won the 4th Annual ESC Radio Awards. They won in the category of Best Group.
After Eurovision Success
After their success at Eurovision, Aysel and Arash went on a European tour. On May 28, 2009, Aysel announced their plans. They had concerts in countries like Sweden, Greece, and Russia. When she returned, Aysel shared more news. She was working on an album with Arash and his team. This album was to be released by Sony BMG and Warner Music.
Aysel also appeared in a well-known TV commercial. This commercial was for Danone yogurts. It was shown on TV channels in Azerbaijan and Georgia. In 2012, Aysel Teymurzadeh was part of a special group. She was one of five musicians from Azerbaijan chosen as a jury member. They helped select the 2012 Eurovision contestant for Denmark. In 2024, Aysel was the spokesperson for the Azerbaijani jury. She announced their votes at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
Aysel's Personal Life
In 2012, Aysel Teymurzadeh got married. She married Murad Adigozalov. He is the director of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society. After her marriage, Aysel decided to step back from performing on big stages. She planned to perform mainly at official events. Aysel and Murad have three children. They have two sons, born in 2012 and 2016. Their daughter was born in 2014.
