Playing in the NBA

Chicago Bulls Team

The Chicago Bulls picked Armstrong in the first round of the 1989 NBA draft. He was 6 feet 2 inches tall. He helped the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 1990. The Bulls won 55 games that season.

In 1991, he helped the Bulls win their first ever NBA title. They beat the Los Angeles Lakers after winning 61 games. In 1992, Armstrong scored double-digit points often. He usually came off the bench as a substitute. He helped the Bulls win 67 games and their second championship in a row. In 1993, he became a starting player. He helped the Bulls achieve a 57–25 record. This led to their third straight championship. He also led the NBA in three-point shooting that year. He made 45.3% of his three-point shots.

In 1994, Michael Jordan suddenly retired. Armstrong became more of a leader for the team. He was the third-highest scorer for the Bulls. Fans voted him to start in the 1994 NBA All-Star Game. He was second in the NBA for three-point percentage. He helped the team win 55 games. They made it to the second round of the playoffs.

In 1995, Armstrong was again the third-highest scorer. The Bulls had a 47–35 record. With Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Toni Kukoč, he helped the team reach the second round of the playoffs again.
