Meet the Dancers
The two dancers in Bad Salsa learned their skills at The Bivash Academy of Dance in Kolkata, India. This is where they met and started dancing together. They began competing in dance shows across India as "Bad Salsa."
Sonali Majumdar: A Star Dancer
Sonali Majumdar is an Indian salsa dancer. She started her dance journey at just seven years old. Her first big show was the fourth season of India's Got Talent with her partner, Sumanth Maroju.
Sonali grew up in a farming family. Her home village, Bagdah, is in the West Bengal area of India. It is located close to the border with Bangladesh.
Sumanth Maroju: The Dynamic Partner
Sumanth Maroju is also an Indian salsa dancer. He began his career at age thirteen. He joined the fourth season of India's Got Talent with his partner, Sonali Majumdar.
Sumanth is from Bhubaneswar in the Indian state of Odisha. His father works for the railway, and his mother is a homemaker.
Their Amazing Dance Journey
Bad Salsa became very well-known after they appeared on season 4 of India's Got Talent. They competed on Colors TV and ended up winning the whole show! After this big win, the duo took part in many dance competitions, both in India and around the world.
Dancing on Indian TV Shows
The duo then joined the sixth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, another show on Colors TV. They danced their way to third place in that competition. In 2017, Bad Salsa also competed in Dance Champions on Star Plus. They finished in tenth place on that show.
Global Stage Performances
Bad Salsa has also performed on big international stages. They were on ITV's Britain's Got Talent: The Champions. They also competed in the fifteenth season of NBC's America's Got Talent. They made it all the way to the finals in America's Got Talent, showing their incredible talent to the world!
