Bailey is a small, unincorporated community in Sherburne County, Minnesota, United States. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger township, which in this case is Big Lake Township.
Bailey is located between the towns of Big Lake and Elk River. You can find it near where Sherburne County Roads 14 and 15 meet U.S. Highway 10. The community was named after Orlando Bailey, who was one of the first people to settle there.
Transportation
Even though Bailey is a small community, a major train line passes through it. The Amtrak Empire Builder train travels on BNSF tracks right through Bailey. This train connects cities like Seattle and Portland on the west coast with Chicago in the Midwest.
However, the Empire Builder does not stop in Bailey. If you wanted to catch this train, the closest station is in St. Cloud. St. Cloud is about 32 miles (51 kilometers) northwest of Bailey.
