Bambi a.d. (Serbian Cyrillic: Бамби а.д.) is a well-known food company. It is based in the town of Požarevac, Serbia. One of its most famous products is a biscuit called Plazma. Outside of former Yugoslavia, this biscuit is also known as Lane. Currently, Coca-Cola HBC Serbia owns the company.

In 1968, Bambi started making their popular Plazma biscuit. It was first inspired by Plasmon biscuits. Today, Plazma is one of Bambi's best-selling products. There was a disagreement with "Plasmon" about the recipe and shape of the cookies. However, Bambi won the case. A technologist named Milos Reljin changed the recipe and added a new ingredient. This made the Plazma biscuit unique. The two companies then agreed that "Plasmon" would not sell in Yugoslavia. In return, "Plazma" would be sold as "Lane" in Western markets.

Bambi was started in 1967. Momčilo Filipović and Petar Tutavac helped to create it. From the very beginning, Bambi focused on making biscuits from local grains. They wanted to create healthy food options.

Within ten years, the company had 230 full-time employees. They produced 3,100 tons of products each year. In 1979, Bambi received its first award for always having great quality. Over time, the company grew and expanded into different parts of former Yugoslavia.

Key Products and Quality

In 1968, Bambi began making their famous Plazma biscuit. This biscuit is still one of their most popular items. In 1990, the company also started making a waffle product called Grandma's cookie (Bakin kolač in Serbian). This product is no longer made today.

In 1997, Bambi was the first food company in Serbia to get an international certificate. This certificate, called ISO 9001, shows that they have high standards for quality management.

Changes in Ownership

In the middle of 2004, Bambi became part of the Danube Foods Group. This group was managed by the Salford Investment Fund. Later, in February 2015, the Salford Investment Fund sold Bambi to Mid Europa Partners.

Since 2015, "Moji Brendovi" is a company that manages the assets of Mid Europa Partners in Serbia. These assets include Bambi, Knjaz Miloš, and Imlek.

In mid-2017, Bambi updated its logo and launched new products. By 2018, Bambi was one of the biggest food companies in Serbia. On February 18, 2019, Coca-Cola HBC announced that they would buy Bambi from Mid Europa Partners. The deal was worth €260 million.
