History
Banda Los Recoditos was formed in 1989 by a group of students. The band's name came from another famous group called Banda el Recodo. This was because many of the new band members were children of the musicians from Banda el Recodo. Banda el Recodo was a Mexican band started by Cruz Lizárraga.
Cruz Lizárraga invited the young musicians to play at a birthday party for a family friend, José Ángel Espinoza Ferrusquilla. Everyone was very impressed by their talent after they performed. This moment helped them realize how much they loved music.
They began by playing at celebrations in Mazatlan and nearby areas. Soon, they became quite popular in the city. The band recorded their first album, A Bailar de Cabllito. This album helped them get invited to tour in the United States. After this album, Pancho Barraza and Alfonso Lizárraga joined Banda el Recodo.
In 1998, the band changed their name to "Banda Vuelta De Rio." Alfonso Lopez wanted this name change. They recorded three independent albums under this new name. In 2001, they changed their name again to "Banda Los RCS," which stood for "Banda Ritmo Con Sabor Sinaloense" (Band Rhythm with Sinaloan Flavor). However, in 2004, they decided to go back to their original name, Banda Los Recoditos.
Carlos Perez, Luis Angel Franco, and Carlos Sarabia joined the band in 2004. They started recording Regional Mexican music. This style of music was very popular with young Mexicans. In 2005, the band received an award for "Popular Breakthrough of the Year" at the Premios Oye!. This was for their third album, Si No Existieras. In 2006, the band recorded an album called Dos Generaciones with their parent group, Banda el Recodo.
In 2010, the band released ¡Ando Bien Pedo!, their first major album. It quickly became number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. The single from the album also reached number one on the Hot Latin Tracks chart. On September 19, 2010, Luis Angel Franco announced that the band was working on a new album. They released it in 2011, and it was called A Toda Madre.
