Baring Plantation is a small community in Washington County, Maine, United States. It is known as a "plantation" because of a special type of local government in Maine. In 2020, about 201 people lived there.
The plantation gets its name from Alexander Baring, 1st Baron Ashburton. He was a British negotiator who helped create the Webster–Ashburton Treaty. This important treaty ended the Aroostook War in 1838–1839.
