Baunei is a small town, also called a comune (municipality), located on the beautiful island of Sardinia in Italy. It is part of the Province of Nuoro. Baunei is famous for being the starting point of a challenging multi-day coastal hike called the Selvaggio Blu.

Baunei is found in the northeastern part of Sardinia. It is about 100 kilometers (62 miles) northeast of Cagliari, which is the capital city of Sardinia. It's also about 11 kilometers (7 miles) north of a town called Tortolì.
