Bayview sits at an elevation of about 36 feet (11 meters) above sea level. In 2020, about 1,782 people lived there. Before 2010, Bayview was part of a larger CDP called Bayview-Montalvin. For the 2010 census, it was separated into two distinct communities: Bayview and Montalvin Manor.

According to the 2010 census, Bayview had a population of 1,754 people. The community was quite diverse. About 49.7% of the people were White, 10.6% were African American, and 21.0% were Asian. About 10.2% were from other races, and 7.0% were from two or more races. People of Hispanic or Latino background made up 29.7% of the population.
Almost everyone, about 99.5% of the population, lived in regular homes. Only a very small number lived in group housing that wasn't for institutions.
