Early Life and Musical Start
Beatrice Rana grew up in Copertino, Italy. She started learning to play the piano when she was only four years old! That's really young. By the time she was nine, she was already performing with an orchestra. She played a special piano piece by Johann Sebastian Bach.
She studied music at the Nino Rota Conservatory in Monopoli. Later, she continued her studies in Hanover, Germany.
Amazing Career and Awards
Beatrice Rana has won many important awards for her piano skills. In 2011, she won first prize at the Montreal International Piano Competition. This was a big achievement! Then, in 2013, she won a silver medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. These competitions are very famous in the world of classical music.
She records her music with Warner Classics, a well-known music company. Her recordings have won awards too. In 2017, she was named "Young Artist of the Year" at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards. This was because of her recordings of music by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Bach. In 2018, she was nominated for another award, the Classic Brit Awards.
Big Performances Around the World
Beatrice Rana has played in many famous concert halls. In October 2018, she performed in Amsterdam with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. She played with them again in September 2020.
One of her biggest moments was her first performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This happened on March 12, 2019. She played difficult pieces by Chopin and received great reviews. She returned to Carnegie Hall two more times in 2019, playing with the Philadelphia Orchestra and performing more Bach concertos.
