Exploring Beinn Talaidh

Beinn Talaidh has a unique shape, looking a bit like a perfect cone. It's a popular spot for hikers and people who love to explore the outdoors.

How to Climb the Mountain

There are a couple of ways to climb Beinn Talaidh. If you're looking for a challenge, you can try the steeper path on the south side. For a slightly easier walk, the northern side offers a gentler climb. This path follows along a lovely valley called Glen Forsa.

Mountain Categories: Grahams and Corbetts

In Scotland, mountains are often grouped into different categories based on their height. Two of these groups are called "Corbetts" and "Grahams."

  • Corbetts are mountains that are between 2,500 and 3,000 feet (762 and 914 meters) high.
  • Grahams are mountains that are between 2,000 and 2,500 feet (610 and 762 meters) high.

For a long time, Beinn Talaidh was thought to be a Corbett. But after a new measurement, experts found it was just a little bit shorter than they first thought. Because of this, it was reclassified as a Graham. Even though it's now a Graham, it's special because it's the highest of all 219 Grahams in Scotland!
