Gani Bakery: A Famous Place for Biscuits
One of the most famous places to get Bela biscuits is Gani Bakery. It's located in Chandanpura, Chittagong. Abdul Gani Showdagar started this bakery way back in the 1880s. Many people believe that Gani was the first person to introduce Bela biscuits in Chittagong. He might have gotten the idea from the Portuguese! In 1945, Gani made the bakery a special kind of property called a Waqf. This means it's set aside for good causes.
