Belcourt is a small community in Rolette County, North Dakota, USA. It's located inside the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. In 2020, about 1,510 people lived there.
Belcourt is the main center for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. Its original name was Siipiising. This is a Chippewa word meaning 'creek that sings with life-giving water'. It refers to Ox Creek, which runs through the town. Belcourt has its own radio station, KEYA (88.5 FM). It also has a newspaper called the Turtle Mountain Times, which started in 2003.

History of Belcourt
Belcourt was first planned in 1884. The community is named after Georges-Antoine Belcourt. He was a French Canadian Roman Catholic priest and missionary. Father Belcourt worked with the Chippewa and Métis people.
He spoke up for the Anishinaabeg and Métis in Canada and the United States. He did this until 1859. Father Belcourt said the Chippewa's land was very large. It stretched about 400 miles north to south. It was also 500 miles east to west.

Belcourt covers about 6.0 square miles (15.5 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. About 5.8 square miles (15.0 square kilometers) is land. The rest, about 0.2 square miles (0.5 square kilometers), is water.
