Benjamin "Ben" Quran Dupree (born January 29, 1992) is an American football player. He played for the Panasonic Impulse team in Japan's X-League. Before that, Ben played college football for The Citadel Bulldogs. He was a star player in high school, even being named Pennsylvania's best Class AAA player in his final year. Ben was also known for being the shortest quarterback in NCAA Division I college football during his time at The Citadel, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Early Life and High School Football

Ben Dupree was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He later moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, when he was young. He graduated from Susquehanna Township High School in 2010.

High School Achievements

Ben was an amazing football player in high school. He ran for over 3,700 rushing yards. He also threw for more than 4,800 passing yards. In total, he scored 80 touchdowns during his high school career. He is ranked very high in the Pennsylvania PIAA football records book. He has over 8,500 total yards, which is more than famous quarterback Terrelle Pryor.

After his final year, Ben was named first team all-state. He was also chosen as the Pennsylvania state player of the year. Ben was also a talented basketball player. He scored over 1,000 points in his high school basketball career. His 2009 football team won a school-record 12 games. His 2007–08 basketball team finished with a 32–3 record. They won their district championship and reached the state championship game.

College Football Career

Ben Dupree was recruited to play for The Citadel. This college is located in Charleston, SC. The head coach, Kevin Higgins, recruited him. Ben was brought in as a triple option quarterback.

Playing at The Citadel

In his first year, Ben played both slotback and quarterback. He started three games as a Quarterback and won two of them. This helped him become the starting quarterback for the rest of his college career. His second year was tough, and the team finished with a 4-7 record.

Ben's third year was the best season for The Citadel since 1992. The team finished with a strong 7-4 record. They even beat bigger schools like Appalachian State and Georgia Southern. Ben was named Southern Conference player of the week after the Appalachian State game. In that game, he ran for 180 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. He also completed 2 passes for 56 yards.

Senior Season Success

Ben's final year had even better statistics than his junior year. However, the team finished with a 5-7 record. Ben ran for over 1,000 yards that season. He led the Southern Conference with 18 rushing touchdowns. This included a school record of 5 rushing touchdowns in one game against Old Dominion. During his college career, Ben was named Southern Conference player of the week three times. He was also named the Southern Conference freshman of the week once.

Playing in Japan's X-League

In 2015, Ben Dupree signed a contract to play professional American football in Japan. He joined the X-League, which is Japan's professional football league. He signed with the Panasonic Impulse team.

Switching Positions and Winning Championships

When he joined Panasonic Impulse, Ben changed positions. He moved from being a triple option QB to a running back. In his first year, Ben was voted to the 2015 All X-League Team. He helped lead the Panasonic Impulse to win the X-League Championship. They defeated the Fujitsu Frontiers in the Tokyo Dome. After that, the Panasonic Impulse went on to win the Rice Bowl. They won this championship game in front of 31,000 fans.
