Ferhat Yılmaz (born February 25, 1991), known by his stage name Ben Fero, is a Turkish rapper and songwriter. He is famous for his unique style of hip hop and trap music.

Ben Fero's Journey in Music

Ben Fero was born in Bonn, Germany, on February 25, 1991. His family moved back to Turkey in 1994. They settled in İzmir. When he was 8 years old, he discovered rap music. He started listening to artists like Tupac Shakur.

He went to Sabanci University from 2009 to 2015. After finishing his studies, he worked as a sales manager. But his real passion was music. In April 2018, he released his first song, "Mahallemiz Esmer".

Just a few months later, in August 2018, he released another song called "Kimlerdensin". This made him decide to leave his job. He wanted to focus completely on making music. He became friends with popular artists like Ezhel and YouTuber Berkcan Güven. This helped him become known in the music world.

On November 30, 2018, he released his third song, "3 2 1". This song quickly became a hit. On December 2, 2018, it was the most listened song in Turkey on Spotify.

Hit Albums and Awards

On February 20, 2019, Ben Fero released his first studio album. It was called Orman Kanunları, which means "Jungle Laws". This album included his earlier hit songs. On the day it came out, all of its songs were in the top 12 on Spotify Turkey's Top 50 chart. This was a first for any artist in Turkey.

One song from the album, "Biladerim İçin", was number one on music charts for many weeks. He even changed the name of his song "Akalım" to "Demet Akalın". He did this after the famous Turkish pop singer Demet Akalın.

Ben Fero also started winning awards. On May 9, 2019, he received the "Best Newcomer Artist" award. This was at the 16th Radio Boğaziçi Music Awards. On January 19, 2020, he performed at the Sinan Erdem Dome. This was after the 2020 Basketbol Süper Ligi All-Star Game.

On September 25, 2020, he released his first EP. An EP is like a mini-album with fewer songs. It was titled Yabani.
