Benjamin Jermaine Talley, born on July 14, 1972, is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for two seasons. He was part of the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons. The Giants picked him in the fourth round of the 1995 NFL draft. Before joining the NFL, he played college football at the University of Tennessee.
Early Life and High School
Benjamin Jermaine Talley was born in Griffin, Georgia. He grew up there and went to Griffin High School.
College Football Career
Talley played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was a key player for them from 1991 to 1994. In his final year, 1994, he started all twelve games. This was the third year in a row he had started every game. That year, he was named to the All-Southeastern Conference second-team. He made 72 tackles and had 5.5 sacks, which means he brought down the opposing quarterback 5.5 times.
Playing in the NFL
The New York Giants chose Ben Talley in the 1995 NFL Draft. He was the 133rd player picked overall, in the fourth round. He played for the Giants in 1995 and 1996. During the 1995 season, he played in four games for the team. Later, in 1998, he played in eight games for the Atlanta Falcons.
