What is Bendering's History?
Bendering officially became a town in 1921. Its name comes from a nearby natural spring. The name is from the Aboriginal people, but its exact meaning is not known today. In the past, Bendering was an important stop along the Merredin to Yilliminning railway line.
What Does Bendering Produce?
The land around Bendering is very good for farming. Farmers in this area grow lots of wheat and other cereal crops. These crops are important for food production. The town is also a special place where farmers bring their harvested crops. This is called a "receival site" for Cooperative Bulk Handling, a company that helps store and transport grain.
