Benjamin Rice Faunce Jr. (1873–1949) was an American pharmacist and businessman. He is famous for inventing the popular soft drink called Boost! and starting the company that made it.

Who Was Benjamin Faunce?
Benjamin Rice Faunce Jr. was born in 1873 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents were Benjamin Rice Faunce and Clarinda Lockard.
Early Life and Career
Later, Faunce moved to Riverside, New Jersey. In 1905, he became a licensed pharmacist, also known as a druggist. He sold his own special remedies. These included headache capsules, cough syrup, and toothpaste.
Inventing the Boost! Drink
Around 1910, Faunce wanted to create a new kind of soft drink. He aimed to make one without bubbles. He invented a drink he called "Tak-Aboost." He first sold this drink in a concentrated form from a soda fountain. After several years of working on the drink, Faunce officially registered "Boost!" as a trademark in 1913. This meant the name was protected by law.
Starting the Boost! Company
On May 15, 1915, Benjamin Faunce started the Boost! Company. Its main goal was to make and sell the Boost! drink. He opened "Boost" shops in towns near Riverside. These included Burlington and Palmyra. Faunce was the president of the Boost Company until he passed away on April 27, 1949.
Family Life
Benjamin Faunce was married to Mable C. Lewis and later to Maude F. Faunce. He had three sons: B. Paul Faunce, Randle B. Faunce, and E. Lester Stockton, Sr. His sons also worked for the Boost! Company. His granddaughter, Helen Faunce Anderson, was also an employee there.
