Benton is a small town located in Kennebec County, Maine, in the United States. It was officially created in 1842. Before that, it was part of the nearby town of Clinton. In 2020, about 2,715 people lived in Benton. The town was named after Thomas Hart Benton, who was a very important senator from Missouri.
