Berg Municipality (called Bergs kommun in Swedish and Bïerjien tjïelte in South Sami) is a special area in Jämtland County in northern Sweden. It's like a local government area, and its main town is Svenstavik. This municipality was created in 1971 by joining several smaller areas together. Even though Berg Municipality covers a very large area, it doesn't have many people living there, which is common in northern Sweden.

Exploring Berg Municipality's Nature

Berg Municipality is known for its beautiful natural places. The name "Berg" actually means "mountain" in Swedish. This name comes from a special mountain called Hoverberget.

Also, Sweden's highest public road, which goes over a place called Flatruet, is in the western part of Berg Municipality.
