Beril's Swimming Journey
Beril Böcekler started her swimming journey at a young age. Since 2015, she has been training at the Turkish Olympic Preparation Center. Her head coach, Gjon Shyti, has helped her develop into a top athlete.
Early Successes
Beril quickly showed her talent in the pool. In 2019, she competed in the 2019 European Junior Swimming Championships held in Kazan, Russia. There, she won two silver medals:
- Silver medal in the 800 meter freestyle race.
- Silver medal in the 1500 meter freestyle race.
European Youth Olympic Festival
Later in 2019, Beril took part in the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Baku, Azerbaijan. This event was a huge success for her! She won three gold medals:
- Gold medal in the 200 meter freestyle.
- Gold medal in the 400 meter freestyle.
- Gold medal in the 800 meter freestyle.
During the EYOF, Beril also set several new records. She broke four Turkish national records in the 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, and 1500 m freestyle events. She also set new EYOF records for the 400 m and 800 m races.

2021 European Junior Championships
At the 2021 European Junior Swimming Championships in Rome, Italy, Beril added more medals to her collection:
- Silver medal in the 800 meter freestyle.
- Bronze medal in the 200 meter freestyle.

Islamic Solidarity Games
In 2021, Beril competed in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey. She performed very well, earning three medals:

Mediterranean Games
