Bermuda is a small island country that loves sports! They first joined the Olympic Games in 1936. Since then, athletes from Bermuda have competed in almost every Summer Olympic Games. They only missed the 1980 games because of a boycott. Bermuda has also sent athletes to every Winter Olympic Games since 1992.

Bermuda made history at the 2020 Summer Olympics (which happened in 2021 because of the pandemic!). Flora Duffy won a gold medal in the women's triathlon. This was a huge moment! It made Bermuda the smallest country in the world by population to ever win a gold medal at the Summer Olympics. Before 2021, Bermuda was also the smallest country to win any Olympic medal, starting in 1976. However, San Marino won a bronze medal in 2021, making them the new smallest country to win a medal overall.

The group that organizes Bermuda's Olympic efforts is called the National Olympic Committee for Bermuda. It was started in 1935 and officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1936.
