Berndt Seite was born on April 22, 1940. He is a German politician. He served as the leader, called "Minister President," of the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from 1992 to 1998. He was also the head of the Bundesrat (a part of Germany's government) in 1992.

Berndt Seite was born in a place called Hahnswalde. This area was near Trebnitz in Lower Silesia. He went to primary school in Ihleburg from 1946 to 1954.
After that, he attended a special school in Schulpforte. He finished high school there in 1958. Then, he went to Humboldt University in Berlin. He studied to become a vet (animal doctor). He finished his studies in November 1963.
His Political Journey
Berndt Seite became involved in local politics in 1989. He was a spokesperson for a group called the New Forum. This group was active in the Röbel district.
In February 1990, he joined the CDU party. From June 1990 to December 1991, he was a district administrator in Röbel. From October 1991 to March 1992, he was a general secretary for the CDU. This role was for the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
