Elizabeth Alice Broderick (born February 24, 1959) is an American actress. She is best known for playing Zelda Spellman in the popular TV show Sabrina the Teenage Witch from 1996 to 2003. She also had important roles in other TV series like Lost (2005–2008) and Under the Dome (2013).

Early life and education

Beth Broderick was born in Falmouth, Kentucky. Her parents are Nina Lou and Thomas Joseph Broderick. She grew up in Huntington Beach, California. From a young age, Beth was very interested in acting and theater.

She finished high school when she was sixteen. Then, she went to the American Academy of Arts in Pasadena, California, and graduated at age 18. After that, she moved to New York City to start her acting career. Beth has two sisters.

Acting career highlights

Beth Broderick has appeared in many movies and TV shows. In 1986, she had small parts in films like If Looks Could Kill and Slammer Girls.

Later, in 1990, she was in the movie The Bonfire of the Vanities. She also appeared in Fools Rush In (1997) with Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. In the film Timber Falls, she played a character named Ida.

Her TV work includes shows like Married... with Children, The 5 Mrs. Buchanans, and Supernatural. She had a recurring role in the ABC series Lost, playing Kate Austen's mother, Diane. She also appeared in an episode of CSI: Miami. More recently, she has been a guest star on shows like Leverage and Castle. In 2019, she starred in "Sister of the Bride," a movie for the Hallmark channel.

Theater and writing

Beth Broderick has also performed in many theater plays. Some of these include The Mousetrap and The Lion in Winter. She was also in a one-woman show called Bad Dates.

Beth Broderick married Scott Paetty on April 29, 2005.

She is a founding member of Momentum. This was one of the first groups in New York to help people with AIDS. She cares about helping others.

As of 2014, Beth Broderick lives in Austin, Texas. There, she continues to act in independent films and local theater shows.
