Acting career highlights
Beverley Mitchell started acting when she was young. In 1996, she tried out for a new family drama called 7th Heaven. She first auditioned for the role of Mary Camden but didn't get it. However, she then read for the part of Lucy, one of the sisters, and was chosen for that role. She played Lucy Camden for many years, from 1996 to 2007, making her a familiar face to many viewers.
In 2000, Mitchell had a small role in The Amanda Show, a comedy series. Later, in 2003, she starred in the Disney Channel movie Right on Track. In this film, she played Erica Enders, a real-life champion drag racer. Her sister, Courtney Enders, was played by Brie Larson in the movie.
During a break from 7th Heaven in 2005, Mitchell appeared in the film Saw II. In 2006, she also recorded her first country music album, which was named after her. She helped write eight of the songs on the album. One song, "Angel," was about a friend who passed away in a car accident when they were teenagers. In 2007, she starred in the TV movie I Know What I Saw, which was shown on the Lifetime channel.
In 2010, Mitchell joined the cast of The Secret Life of the American Teenager for its third season. She played a school counselor named Katelyn O'Malley. In 2016, she was cast in a show called Hollywood Darlings on the Pop network. In this show, she starred alongside other actors who were child stars in the 1990s, like Jodie Sweetin and Christine Lakin. The series first aired in April 2017.
More recently, in April 2024, it was announced that Mitchell would start a podcast. She co-hosts it with her former 7th Heaven co-stars, Mackenzie Rosman and David Gallagher. The podcast is called "Catching up with the Camdens," and they talk about their time on the show.
