The Big River is a cool river located on the Olympic Peninsula in the state of Washington, USA. It's an important river that flows into the Ozette River. The Big River starts high up in the northwestern Olympic Mountains and eventually flows into Ozette Lake.

Where Does the Big River Flow?

The Big River begins its journey in the northwestern part of the Olympic Peninsula. It generally flows towards the south and west.

The River's Starting Point

The very beginning of the Big River is found near Sekiu Mountain. This spot is also close to where the South Fork Sekiu River starts.

Journey to Ozette Lake

As the Big River flows south, it collects water from a smaller stream called Boe Creek. Then, it turns southwest, passing by the small town of Royal. Along its path, it gathers more water from other streams. These include Solberg Creek, Trout Creek, and Durham Creek.

After collecting these streams, the Big River enters Olympic National Park. It then empties its waters into Swan Bay, which is a part of Ozette Lake. The water from Ozette Lake then flows out through the Ozette River, which eventually reaches the huge Pacific Ocean.
