William Allen Thompson (born October 10, 1946) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback and safety in the National Football League (NFL). He was picked by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft.
Billy Thompson played college football at Maryland State College. He was later honored by being inducted into the Hawk Hall of Fame in 1984. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl three times. In 1987, he was added to the Broncos Ring of Fame. This is a special honor for important players in the team's history.
