Blanchard is a small suburban town in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, USA. It is the second-largest town by population in Caddo Parish. In 2020, about 3,538 people lived there. Blanchard is part of the larger Shreveport–Bossier City area.

Blanchard was likely named after a very important person named Newton C. Blanchard. He was a representative and a senator for Louisiana. He even became the 33rd Governor of Louisiana!
Where is Blanchard?
Blanchard is located in the northwest part of Louisiana. You can find it at these coordinates: 32.586762 degrees North and 93.887590 degrees West. Louisiana Highway 173 runs right through the town and is known as Main Street. Downtown Shreveport is about 10 miles (16 km) to the southeast. The town covers a total area of 3.49 square miles (9.03 km2), and all of it is land.
