Blizzard Mountain Ski Area is a small, friendly place to ski in central Idaho, United States. It is located in the southern part of the Pioneer Mountains. This ski area is about 18 miles (29 km) southwest of a town called Arco.
The highest point you can reach by ski lift is 6,305 feet (1,922 meters) above sea level. From this spot, you can ski down a treeless slope that drops 710 feet (216 meters). The top of the mountain offers amazing views of the huge Snake River Plain in many directions.

Skiing and Lifts
The ski area has one main ski lift. It is called a platter lift, which is a type of surface lift. This lift pulls skiers up the mountain while they stay on their skis.
The ski area is usually open on Saturdays. However, it only opens if there is enough snow and the weather conditions are good.
Location and Nearby Attractions
Blizzard Mountain Ski Area is located in Butte County. It is just north of the famous Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. This monument is a unique area with lava flows and volcanic cones. The ski area's base is about 4 miles (6.4 km) north of the monument's visitor center.
The actual summit of Blizzard Mountain is higher than the ski area. It reaches 9,313 feet (2,839 meters) and is located near the border with Blaine County.
