The Bloody Mary was first created in the 1920s or 1930s. There are different ideas about how it started and where its name came from.
History of the Bloody Mary
A French bartender named Fernand Petiot said he invented the Bloody Mary. He claimed he made it in 1921. This was before other people said they created it. His granddaughter supported his story.
