Blue Mountain is found in the southern part of Logan County. It shares its eastern border with Yell County.
Mountains and Valleys Around Town
The town sits in a valley. To the south, you'll find Potts Ridge, which is about 860 feet high. To the north is the western end of Mount Magazine. This mountain is the highest point in Arkansas, reaching 2,753 feet just 4 miles east of Blue Mountain.
Getting Around Blue Mountain
Arkansas Highway 10 runs right through the town. If you head west on this highway, you'll reach Magazine in about 5 miles. Continue for another 12 miles, and you'll arrive in Booneville, which is one of Logan County's main towns. If you go east on Highway 10 for about 11 miles, you'll get to Havana.

The town of Blue Mountain covers an area of about 1.07 square miles (2.77 square kilometers). Almost all of this area is land. Ashley Creek flows through the town to the south. This creek leads to Blue Mountain Lake. This lake is a reservoir on the Petit Jean River, which eventually flows into the Arkansas River.
