History of Boat Harbour Beach
Boat Harbour was first known as Jacobs' Boat Harbour. This name came from Captain John Jacobs. He was a ship captain who worked for the Van Diemen's Land Company.
Captain Jacobs used small ships to trade goods. He sailed between places like Circular Head and Woolnorth and the city of Launceston, Tasmania. This trading happened between the late 1820s and the 1840s.
Life in Boat Harbour Beach
Even though it's a small town, Boat Harbour Beach has important places for its community. The Boat Harbour Primary School is a public school. It is funded by the government and helps local kids learn.
