Bodallin is a small town in Western Australia. It's located about halfway between the towns of Merredin and Southern Cross. It's a quiet place, but it plays an important role in the region's farming industry.

History of Bodallin

Bodallin got its name from a nearby railway stop. This stop was built between 1894 and 1897. The town itself was officially started in 1918.

When it was first named, the town's spelling was "Boddalin". But in 1947, the spelling was changed to "Bodallin", which is how we know it today.

In 1932, the Wheat Pool of Western Australia decided to build two large grain elevators in Bodallin. These elevators help store and move wheat. They were placed right next to the railway line.

What Happens in Bodallin?

The main activity in Bodallin is wheat farming. The town is an important place for farmers to bring their harvested wheat. It has a special site run by Cooperative Bulk Handling. This site collects and stores the grain.

Bodallin is also a stop for a special train service. This train is called the Prospector.

The Prospector train service connects Bodallin to other towns. It runs between East Perth and Kalgoorlie. The train stops in Bodallin once or twice every day. This makes it easy for people to travel to and from the town.

Bodallin is also a "crossing loop" on the railway line. This means it's a place where trains can wait for other trains to pass.
