Bomberman Jetters (ボンバーマンジェッターズ, Bonbāman Jettāzu) is a cool Japanese anime TV show from 2002. It was made by NAS and TV Tokyo, with animation by Studio Deen. This series is based on the super popular Bomberman video game series by Hudson Soft.

The show also led to two manga comic series and three video games. One of the video games even got an English version and voice acting!

What's the Story?

The Jetters are a special space police team. Their job is to protect unique and valuable items from a group of bad guys called the Hige-Hige bandits.

The leader of the Jetters, Mighty, who is a skilled Bomberman, goes missing during a mission. So, Dr. Ein lets Mighty's younger brother, White Bomber, join the team. White Bomber is a bit clumsy and acts like a kid, but he really looks up to his older brother.

White Bomber and the Jetters go on many adventures. They try to stop Doctor Mechadoc and Mujoe from stealing rare objects. They also face off against the Hige-Hige Bandits and make sure old treasures get back to their rightful owners.

At first, the show was mostly funny, with the Jetters fighting a new "monster of the week" sent by Dr. Mechadoc and Mujoe. But later, the story became more serious and exciting. It explored themes like growing up and facing tough challenges, but it still kept some of its funny parts.

Meet the Characters

Here are some of the main characters you'll meet in Bomberman Jetters:

The Jetters Team

White Bomber (シロボン, Shiro Bon)

Shout (シャウト, Shauto)
Voiced by: Risa Mizuno (Japanese); Kristen Erdman (English)
Shout is the brave leader of the Jetters. She took over after Mighty disappeared. She's the only girl on the team. Shout often gets annoyed with White Bomber, but deep down, she cares for him like a brother. She believes he will lead the Jetters someday.

Bongo is a big, hairy inventor from Planet Dodonpa. He helps Dr. Ein and loves to change Gangu, often without asking. He's actually a royal prince, even though he doesn't look like one!
Birdy (バーディ, Bādi)
Voiced by: Masami Iwasaki (Japanese); Tony Carroll (English)
Birdy is a bird-like character and a good friend of Mighty. He's a strong fighter and usually keeps his feelings hidden. He can fly using wings that come out of his back and can throw sharp feathers.

Professor Bagular (プロフェッサーバグラー, Purofessā Bagurā)
Voiced by: Mugihito
Bagular is the clever leader of the Hige-Hige Gang. He wants to collect all the unique items in the universe. He used to be good friends with Dr. Ein, but they became rivals because of a girl named Momo.
