Kaori Asada (born April 16, 1973) is a Japanese singer and songwriter. She is better known by her stage name, Bonnie Pink. She writes all her own songs and plays both guitar and piano. Bonnie Pink chose her stage name because it was easy to remember and sounded cute. It doesn't have a special meaning.

Her Music Journey Begins
Bonnie Pink started her music career in 1995. Her first single was called "Orenji". That same year, she released her first album, Blue Jam. She described this album as a mix of different feelings and sounds. Her music style is a unique blend of jazz, blues, pop, and rock.
In 1996, Bonnie Pink worked with famous producers Tore Johansson and Mitchell Froom. One of her songs, "It's Gonna Rain!", became the ending theme for the popular anime show Rurouni Kenshin.
For her third album, Evil & Flowers (1998), she went to the Swedish countryside. She put her feelings into the songs she created there. After this album, she went to New York to study music. In 1999, she signed with Warner Music Japan.
Working with Top Producers
For her fourth album, Let Go, Bonnie Pink teamed up with Mitchell Froom again. He was so impressed with her that he gave her credit for helping produce the album. Her fifth album, Just a Girl, came out in 2001.
The next year, she released Re-Pink, which was an album of remixes. She continued to release new music, including Present in 2003 and Even So in 2004. In 2005, her album Golden Tears came out. She also performed at a big music event called SXSW in the USA.
Big Hits and Collaborations
In May 2006, Bonnie Pink released the single "Love Is Bubble". Her song "A Perfect Sky", released in June 2006, became a huge hit! It was used in a TV commercial for makeup and reached number 5 on the music charts in Japan. This made it her most successful song ever.
Her "best of" album also sold very well. It quickly became one of the top-selling albums of the year. In November 2006, she worked with the music group M-Flo on their song "Love Song". This song was also a big hit, reaching number 9 on the charts.
Songs for Anime and Movies
Bonnie Pink's music has been featured in many popular shows and movies.
- In 2005, her song "Cotton Candy" was the ending theme for the anime Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor.
- "Love Is Bubble" was the theme song for the Japanese movie Memories of Matsuko. She even appeared in the movie!
- Her song "Last Kiss" was the ending theme for the popular anime Gantz.
More Chart Success
Bonnie Pink's single "Anything for You" reached number 9 on the music charts. Another single, "Water Me", reached number 6 on its release day. On July 7, 2007, Bonnie Pink performed at the Live Earth event in Kyoto, which focused on environmental awareness.
New Albums and Tours
Bonnie Pink's album Thinking Out Loud was released on July 25, 2007. It was her first album to be sold as both a CD and a CD with a DVD. The album was very popular, reaching number 4 on the daily charts and selling many copies. She then went on her "Thinking Out Loud Tour" in late 2007 and early 2008.
In April 2008, Bonnie Pink was a guest on Domoto Tsuyoshi's album I and Ai. She helped write the lyrics for the last song, "Say Anything".
Music for Video Games
The English version of Bonnie Pink's song "Ring a Bell" was chosen as the theme song for the American version of the Xbox 360 game Tales of Vesperia. This song was released on iTunes in Japan and America to celebrate her 35th birthday. The Japanese version, "Kane o Narashite", came out in August 2008.
Her thirtieth single, "Joy / Happy Ending", was released in April 2009. Her 10th studio album, One, followed in May 2009.
