History of Borallon

The name Borallon comes from a railway station. This station was named by Queensland Railway Commissioner Francis Curnow. He named it after his birthplace near St Ives in Cornwall, England.
Borallon used to have its own Post Office. It first opened as a receiving office in 1922. Then, it became a full Post Office on 1 July 1927. The Post Office stayed open for many years before closing in 1974.
